mixing dirt for Earthboxes

used six parts promix bx to one part perlite.

Filled wicking reservoirs with dirt. Filled an inch or so over the hole and made sure the dirt was not floating in the reservoir.

Put weed guard at base of EarthBox to keep roots from entering water reservoir.

Added perlite-promix soil in several layers. Watered between layers

For most of the EarthBoxes I used the EarthBox Kit with dolomite and 7-7-7 fertilizer. Dolomite was mixed into the soil when soil reach about an inch or two from the top.

Fertilizer was put in a 2 inch wide trough on one side of the EarthBox then covered. Plants will be put on the side oposite the fertilizer.

In two Earthboxes I put my own try at a "recharge" kit.  I used 1lb agricultural limestone, 1 lb bone meal both of which I added as you do the dolomite in the Earthbox
