no germination

Still no germination for the bhuts or the seeds from redwood
Possible reasons

1) instant read thermometer not working
2) let them get too dry
3) used soil with peat in it
4) over head heat source not consistent. Too hot on top too cold on bottom.

I doubt the seed are bad because the chili institute seems to be pretty dependable.
I put some insulation  beneath the pots hopefully this will keep the water in the lower tray warm.

OK I could not resist, more seeds

Ordered chocolate bhut and seven pot seeds from

Started a few more

I started a few more peppers

Puya
Habanero Paper lantern
Jamaican yellow

This time is soaked the potting soil heavily and used a rubber band to
secure the plastic wrap hopefully this will keep them from drying out.

no sprouts yet

I think I may have lets the ghost pepper seeds get too dry.  I put a rubber band around the top of the pots to hold the plastic wrap better and filled the bottom tray with water. Once again there is condensation on the bottom of the plastic wrap cover. We will see if I have to start a new batch.

pepper seeds warm and happy

My grow light is keeping the seed at a nice 85 deg. Hopefully will be sprouting within a week.

It begins again

After having to kill my 7 pot chili because of a massive infestation, I
sprayed the walls with bifenthrin and started over. 8 pots with Bhut
peppers, two to three seeds in each. I hope the bugs don't come back.
